Starting an air conditioner or heat pump compressor (reciprocating and scroll) requires an extra electrical "shock" to start. Equipment requiring hard-start capacitors: heat pump or condenser split systems with (TXV) installed. Old heat pump or condenser that is mechanically stuck and not working. 🔧Installation Notes 🔶Connect the two wires of the SPP6 in parallel with the run capacitor (one wire on each side) without removing any of the original wires. If all run capacitor terminals are being used, use the SPP6's special "piggyback" terminals. 🔷2-wire connection:The two-wire hard-start kit is connected in parallel with the run capacitor for Permanently Split Capacitor (PSC) type compressors; and connects to the start and run terminals on the compressor for Capacitor Start Induction Run (CSIR) type compressors.
