Starting an air conditioner or heat pump compressor (reciprocating and scroll) requires an extra electrical "shock" to start. Equipment requiring hard-start capacitors: heat pump or condenser split systems with (TXV) installed. Old heat pump or condenser that is mechanically stuck and not working. 🔧Installation Notes 🔷2-wire connection:The two-wire hard-start kit is connected in parallel with the run capacitor for Permanently Split Capacitor (PSC) type compressors; and connects to the start and run terminals on the compressor for Capacitor Start Induction Run (CSIR) type compressors.
