If it is too long for an application will shortening the barrel affect function?** A: The length is 3.2 inches from the end of the T handie to the weld base, it doesn't look like it would be easaly shortend with out machine work, the pin could be shortened. **Q: Can I remove the barrel? I read that it has a weld on barrel, but then I also see an allen screw.** A: Yes. The Allen key is a locking grub screw to stop the pin undoing due to vibration/use etc. remove the grub screw and un wind the pin then you are left with just the barrel to weld on .
