Review: Love the elegant front - Pros: Love the elegant front. Removable drive cages, easy assembly, power supply vent on bottom, great cable management. Felt well-built. Cons: Could use more screw-less designs, 4-pin CPU cable did not fit through cable management grommet. No cover plates for 3.5" external drives (card readers). Bought this case for my computer because I loved the smooth, elegant front panel design. I also liked that I could still use an optical drive without having to look at it all the time. The case felt really well-built and designed. I removed the large drive cage immediately, leaving plenty of room for over-sized graphics cards. The stand-off holes will nicely marked for each of the three motherboard types it supports, with the middle hole replaced with a peg for holding the motherboard while screwing it in. This was a nice touch. There is a vent on the bottom for the power supply fan, which I liked as well. The cable management was pretty nice, with holes in all the necessary places and velcro straps on the back. My only two complaints are fairly minor: a screw-less design would have been nice. There's a latch required to open the side panel, but it still uses thumb screws. A hinged door with a latch would have been a nice touch. Screwless drive bays would have been nice as well, but not really a big deal and the vibration dampening screws they provided are nice. The other problem I had was with the 4-pin CPU power cable, which did not fir through the hole at the top of the motherboard properly. I ended up accidentally pushing the grommet out, which was a pain to get back in. I managed to get the cable through, rather than running it across the motherboard, but it was a pain. I would definitely buy a case from Fractal Design again.
Review: the plastic looks like soap and water mixing - I recently got an R5 blackout edition w/ windowed case. the plastic looks like soap and water mixing. Like if you were playing with bubbles as a kid, there are different color swirls in the plastic and it looks strange. I brought this to the attention of Fractal through their email support. Was told this could not be RMA'ed because it wasnt physical damage. I replied saying that I thought this should be considered as physical damage. No response from support. I also left a voicemail with support. no response.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great case, but not quite perfect yet.
*by K***N on March 6, 2015*

Clean minimalist design. Flexible and organized interior. The new R5 is an upgrade even from the previous R4 model. Cons: top panels are a bit difficult to remove. The SSD mounts behind the motherboard receive no airfkow and are even insulated by the side panel's noise absorption material. Loss of the extra expansion card skot cover was a disappointment. I would have preferred the titanium colour was on the rest of the case panels instead of only the front door.
