(thanks all in my other question btw)** A: I am at work so I am trying to remember. I gave this as a gift to a little girl turning 5 and she LOVED it. I bought the one that is less expensive for my four-year-old son. The set I bought my son does not have the wood carrying case. The one thing that could be dangerous is the scissors (rounded / plastic) and perhaps the pencil sharpener. With adult supervision it is no problem. My anwser does not apply to children young enough to put these art supplies in their mouth, of course! **Q: Is the wooden box finished in dark wood as shown?** A: Yes, mine was in dark wood. **Q: At what age this set can be recommended to use?
