I like the light that is attached. It is good at night or when walking into a dark theater or room. It easily folds, which is a huge advantage in many instances. For example when I am seated in a restaurant, I can easily fold it either half way or 1/3 way and then lay it down under my chair or table so it is not in anybody's way. Also, it is convenient to fold when at a theater, where I can slip it under my seat. This cane has a nice wide pivoting quad base that allows the cane to stand up on its own. The base also adapts to different surfaces, which make it very practical when walking outside. The stand-alone feature allows me to make transitions when I need two hands; such as paying for a bill, or standing and looking at merchandise in a store; basically, doing anything where the use of two hands is necessary. I've been using mine for a month or more now. I appreciate that the height is adjustable. I'm tall, and the extra length helps. I appreciate that it is collapsible, and comes with the clip necessary to *keep* it collapsed. Where it literally falls down on the job: the wider base doesn't make it particularly stable when it's standing on its own. And the last time it fell over, the light in the handle broke. Not sure if I can repair it or not. First I'll need to find the lens. Which has likely rolled behind the toilet, the least accessible place in my house. Did I mention that I'm a bit mobility challenged? Also, the lens housing looks molded in, rather than something removable and replaceable, so I'd have to rely on plastic cement to fix it if I *did* find it. So it goes. The light was useful a couple of times, enough that I'll miss it.
