Review: Absolutely great purchase ... And I'm PICKY. - First, this Kohler faucet looks and feels superb. I love the matte black. The weighty feel and high-quality lever and buttons tell you in an instant that this is a serious, high quality product. I checked out many brands and am coming up from a six-year-old Home Depot Vigo faucet. The water flow is great. The boost helps a bit, but I'm most pleased that the flow is powerful and the sprayer is STRONG. Some complain it splashes. Fine, it may - but the powerful jets are worth it. It sprays in a fan pattern which I like. The spray cleans off food and residue with aplomb. I was very worried about pressure and this unit doesn't disappoint. There is an option for higher-flow (Kohler 1167290 Replacement Part) that I have ordered) which allows up to 2.2GPM over the standard 1.8GPM. I'm not complaining about the flow but I can never have enough...and this is one of the only ones I found with this available less-restrictive aerator (which only costs a few dollars). The button from standard flow to sprayer locks, unlike most which revert to standard flow when water is turned off. Fine by me. The pull-down sprayer head is the best: It's not an especially LONG pull-out - but I don't care. It sits securely and snugly with a magnet to really hold it in place. I like this because it doesn't LOOK like a pull-down; it looks solid. If you need a really long pull-out sprayer maybe this isn't the one - but it's perfect for me in a standard double sink. The unit swivels smoothly yet stays in place. I can't stress enough how well constructed it feels - and the (limited) lifetime warranty makes me very comfortable. I called and spoke with Kohler with many questions - and this unit met all my needs. The CS person was very helpful and really gave me confidence in the purchase. On thing I didn't know was the escutcheon (base plate) is primarily for aesthetics. I installed mine which looks great, but Kohler said it really doesn't help stability. I beg to differ, as the plate adds extra height and width. No matter, it feels and looks right on my otherwise basic aluminum sink. I would buy again and have no issues except one - which goes with most new faucets I've looked at: There is no visible indicator on the faucet handle of hot or cold (such as a red or blue dot). Would it be that hard for Kohler and others to make this standard? Since you can mount the handle in different directions it would help. Further, for those of us who have different faucets in different kitchens and houses with different people using them, it would be one less thing to think about when needing hot or cold. It's a minor quibble but not unlike indicating which side of your car the gas tank is on. Since the unit is black it may be tougher for me to "add something" like I did on my last chrome faucet (I used a permanent marker to place red and blue dots identifying temperature direction). Finally, the handle itself only moves left/right about 40 degrees - not 90 like some other units. I don't care - the handle feels great the the temp variation is well controlled. Buy with no fear or regret. If I run into any issues I'll post it here as an update!
Review: Great kitchen faucit - I have had the Kohler kitchen faucit for about one month. I have have it installed in home build in 1995 in California and replaces a Price Pfister G133-100 which had previously been replaced. So I assume lifetime of these type of kitchen faucets is on the order of about 7-8 years. So I can't speak to the reliability of the Kohler that was installed in my kitchen. I actually wanted a Moen for about 2X the price but I was concerned that the 1.5" Moen diameter vs 1 3/8 for Kohler requirement would not work out for my 19 year old sink, But it would have worked just fine as the plumber asserted. In any case, I am quite happy with the looks and operation of the Kohler faucet. The water flow is a little reduced from the Price Pfister but I am fine with that. Also, the plaster is not excessive as the hight the water emits from the nozzle is higher from the older style kitchen faucets in the mid nineties. The nozzle is indeed plastic as others have pointed out but it is not easy to tell visually. I can't speak to the reliability of the faucet as one month is too short to make an assessment. The nozzle retracts nicely into its original position without being magnetic as some competing solutions seems to suggest. Also, there are two spray settings: the usual center spray which acts like a normal faucet and a broader spray. Once you select the spray mode the faucet will stay on that spray mode until you select the rocker switch to turn it the other. Even if you turn off the faucet the spray mode stays the same. Also, I am not using the stainless baseplate which came with the faucet as I decided to cover up the two holes with hole covers. So the installation is essentially single hole. Also, the faucet has no angular stop which means you can turn the faucet 360 degrees or 720 degrees + more in principle, although you will twist the rubber hose underneath the sink. Not a problem for me.

## Features

- Effortless reach: a high-arch spout rotates a full 360 degrees and pulls down into the sink, so filling pots and rinsing dishes feels natural from every angle
- Three ways to wash: switch between a steady stream, the wide Sweep spray for sweeping debris across your sink, and Boost technology that lifts the flow rate by 30% at the touch of a button
- Built to last a lifetime: KOHLER ceramic disc valves exceed industry longevity standards, delivering smooth, reliable performance for years of daily use
- Comfortable, fluid control: ProMotion technology pairs a light, quiet braided hose with a swiveling ball joint, making the pull-down sprayhead easy and pleasant to maneuver
- Stays clean, stays beautiful: the MasterClean sprayface resists mineral buildup while KOHLER finishes resist corrosion and tarnishing, keeping your faucet looking its best
- Sprayhead that locks in place: the DockNetik magnetic docking system secures the pull-down sprayhead to the spout, so it returns home and stays put when not in use
- One-touch temperature memory: a single Lever makes adjusting water temperature simple, and temperature memory recalls your preferred setting each time you turn the faucet on

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there a way to slow down the Sweep Spray function to be able to use it like a more gentle spray?**
A: Yes! You can adjust the water flow down with the faucet handle to a mere trickle before pressing the sweep spray button in order to get as delicate a mist as you want. I use the gentle spray to water my orchids and other delicate house plants.

**Q: Is the entire fixture--including the retractable spray head--made from metal, not plastic? I have found plastic spray heads to not be durable.**
A: The unit is still functioning perfectly. The "hose" part of the pull-out feature is a very heavy woven material. I am not sure what it is made of but it shows no stress or wear. The only plastic parts that are visible to the user are the plastic dots where you switch between a flow to a spray. Occasionally I have to clean the head of the unit to clear the holes of the spray and flow. I soak it in vinegar to clean. Since I use rain-harvested water only, calcium build-up is not a problem so the cleaning is a very infrequent event.

**Q: Can you install this faucet without the base plate?**
A: Yes, we have installed this faucet in three locations without the base plate. Works perfectly and obviously, we like the faucet!

**Q: Does anyone know what the pulldown part of this faucet is made of? I"m concerned it is made of plastic.**
A: the outer casing is metal - same material as the rest of the faucet. There is a plastic collar/fitting inside the flexible pull-down part that fits snugly up into the fixed part of the faucet. It's a nice faucet. No issues with mine

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Typical Kohler Quality
*by T***Y on April 27, 2011*

This is a wonderful product - beautiful, versatile, well-constructed. As I've slowly replaced the last owner's low- to mid-market fixtures with nice ones I've ended up almost always buying Kohler (the others being Delta) at least partly because I'm partial to east central Wisconsin, but mostly because I have yet to experience a Kohler product I didn't love. This faucet was super easy to install - it took maybe ten minutes once I'd removed the old faucet and swapped out the failing pipe shutoff valves. The two spray settings (essentially a focused stream and a dispersed spray) are both very good though I might prefer a slightly more diffuse stream. I don't find the pause feature very useful, but I guess it's a nice option. I am a fan of the high-arc design because it dramatically improves sink access for washing or filling large dishes, and of course the pull-down faucets are much higher quality than the old side-sprayers, which were a nuisance at best. Kohler of course isn't the only manufacturer of this popular style, but the Kohler is nice because it's pretty much all metal - a lot of the others are mostly plastic - and it's also about the narrowest and most compact neck and head that I could find. Many of the high-arc faucets with pull-down heads are big, bulky plasticky affairs but the Kohler is pretty narrow and very solid. The photograph of the product shows it with the mounting plate, which covers the two side holes on a three-hole sink, but I chose to mount it without the plate, using the leftmost hole in my sink, which in my case puts the faucet in the exact center of the two basins. I used one of the other holes to mount a (Kohler) soap dispenser, and I plugged the other two with (cheap plastic) hole fillers. I think it looks nicer this way than with the mounting plate; it's nice to have the versatility.
