I have some devices in my house that can see the 5 ghz and others that can't. MY Nexus 7 (1st gen) was not made for the 5 Ghz spectrum but my Nexus 5 sees both. The dual band arrangement means I have now been able to separate my CCTV WiFi feed which was stamping all over my iPad's WiFi signal. This router has solved that little problem. I think it would be just as useful in a household that do a lot of streaming or online gaming, and with a USB 2.0 port capable of sharing flash storage, printers, FTP servers and media players, it's perfect for users with an extensive home network. Set up was very simple and using the auto-set up mode it was as fast to achieve as the connection the router provides. There are some cool additional features too, such as a switch to turn the wireless function on/off. If I have one complaint (which I do) it's that the unit suffers from the same problem as every other TP Link router I've owned: Ulgy-itus. It's blocky appearance is very dated an not very attractive and and the dual antennas are far from easy on the eye, but they do at least provide a good range for the WiFi signal and a strong connection. It's a good item that works well and it's solved some connection issues I was having, but it is still only going to get 4 stars. I've knocked off a star for its brutish looks and until TP Link have a word with their design team I don't think they'd ever be my first choice if I was buying a new router with my own cash.
