Review: great plum taste. no menthol - Great plum taste and seems to work with coughing without the harsh menthol taste of most cough drops. I would say these are a pretty good value. The tin can is a nice touch as well and can be useful for when you're done with them

I also tried the lemongrass flavor recently and didn't like it as much as it did have the medicinal cough syrup sort of taste. But these plum flavored are a little sour and yummy.

This is a lovely tin of candies. Each is wrapped, so they are easy to share with friends. The flavor is complex, rich, ume plum. They are not too sweet. In fact they are a sweet/sour candy, but not lemon sour. You really have to try time to enjoy them. I am ordering more, and these will always be in my purse. I guess the best part is they are surprising to the American palate and people seem happy when they taste one. That's best, a little bit of happiness in a pretty purple wrapper.
