If one were to follow the detailed instructions that were included, the garment needs to soak for at least an hour, hang dry, add dye, dry overnight, then rinse and hang dry again. The kids enjoyed the activity, and remained relatively clean, but we weren't able to enjoy the end result due to the overnight requirement.
