The film is beautifully animated; featuring a unique artstyle that invokes the comic book source material, special animation styles for the different main characters, and dynamic expressions on all of the Spider-people. This film also provides a great storyline, introducing general audiences to Miles Morales as he gains spider powers akin to Peter Parker and has to come into his own in order to save his reality. At the same time he gets help other Spider-people from other universes including another Peter B Parker (who is older and weary of years of being Spider-Man), Spider-Gwen (Gwen Stacy from a world where she got the powers), Spider-Man Noir (from a black-and-white world set in the 1920's), Spider-Ham (a cartoon pig), and Peni Parker (anime girl with a Spider-themed mech). Miles and Peter B get the majority of the screen time/character arcs, but the other Spider-people have good characterization that make them fun to watch. This combo set includes a Blu Ray disk, a standard DVD disk, and a digital code. It's nice to have a standard DVD along with the Blu Ray disk, and a digital code is indeed included despite it not being mentioned on the box.
