Having said that, this brand offers Vitamin C at a very good price compared to other vendors. The excellent rating is for its price advantage compared to others. And yes, the best thing about this brand is that it does not contain any toxic additives either ( Like some other brands that add Sucralose to sweeten the Vitamin C.) Here is a simple test to check if the powder is actually Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): You will need Lugols Iodine drops- Also available on Amazon. Make a solution of Ascorbic acid by mixing 1/8th tsp in half a glass of water. This solution will be clear. To this solution add a few drops of lugols Iodine. If your sample of Vitamin C is pure then the lugols iodine drops that are violet in colour will become colourless, if however the product is not vitamin c, but citric acid then the solution will become bluish violet.
