The infrared works better than the white light, so I have turned the white light off. Motion detection certainly works, but requires some patience to configure it. Overall this is a great camera. Got it working quickly from the instructions. It came with a mini SD card but not big enough to store 24 hours so I bought a 256 card which works well. Easy to install outside, I actually cut the power cable which is short and put a new piece in to get to the socket outlet inside, via small drilled hole in the door frame. Sound and video ok. TIP - get HiP2P client software for the PC. Much better control of the features, especially rewind from the SD card. Took me a long time to find this one! and a bit of a fiddle to get it working properly, but worth it if you are a little PC savvy. I don't use the motion sensor, it was sending emails to me ever minute!
