It is quite sturdy, and the tag on the base says the weight load limit is 90 kg (200 lbs), but we have loaded it with 250 lbs and it seems fine (probably not something you want to do every day though unless you plan on reinforcing the joints - the wood itself is sturdy enough to handle the load). We needed a convenient foot stool in the bathroom, but don’t really have room for both a waste basket and a step stool. I was going to make something that could do this double duty, when I saw this foot stool. Looking at my pics, you can see a small trash can underneath. The size of the top is actually about 11-7/8 inches including the rounded bevel edge. The height is 12-inches, but the height to the support bar underneath is about 10-inches which allows trash to be delivered to the basket from the size of the foot stool if the basket is short enough. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The perfect step stool! *by T***0 on September 20, 2019* I really like this stool!I purchased it because I wanted something to set my air filter on so it wasn’t directly on the carpet and I wanted it to match the stain of my bedroom furniture.I succeeded - this still is very aesthetically pleasing.This can be used as a steep stool though - it is strong enough to be used to climb into a high bed, to aid in cabinet entry or accessing high places.
