Review: Hot water ANYWHERE! - I ordered this in anticipation of my Memorial Day Camping Trip. It's always nice to have nice, hot water to rinse off after a long day fishing, especially in dusty northern Arizona. I debated between this and the larger 5 gallon size, but I'm glad I got this one. 3 gallons is PLENTY for a quick rinse of several people as long as you use the water wisely. More water means heavier which means more weight on critical areas on this shower and it won't last as long. The shower itself is made of vinyl a little thicker than your typical Camelbak bladder. One side is clear while the other is black on one side and silver on the outside. The included attach points for a hanging bar of soap or whatever were nice as was the included mirror. The hose is a basic vinyl hose - nothing special, but it does work just fine and is durable enough to last. The shower head is a push/pull valve - pull it and water flows. Push it and it stops. The stops are positive and no leaks were detected during extensive use. The port for filling the bladder is a twist off cap that seals well and is wide enough for easy quick addition of water. Now, for the important part - how well does it heat? I filled the bladder with tap water from the sink and placed it outside on my concrete driveway. Within 30 min I had 110 degree water. Note, however, that I live in Phoenix. Water from the tap is generally 80 degrees and it was just about 100 degrees the day I got it. It still heated VERY quickly. When I went north for camping, the weather was decidedly cooler. 40's at night and 85ish during the day. It took a couple of hours in the morning for the water to heat up, but I consistently had 100+ degree water before noon each day. I would set it on the open tailgate of my truck when I woke up and once it got to temperature I hung it in the tree where the water stayed hot and even got hotter through the day. At night, I'd refill the water and start it again the next day. All in all, the 8 people camping with me enjoyed the hot showers and we experienced no issues with the shower at all. I'd recommend this to anyone needing a way to have hot water when they are away from home.
Review: Excellent but be aware of the weight when filled - Works great, no leaks and a substantial nice sturdy handle that doesn't feel like it will rip. Please note that when it was approx. 70% full, it weighs 30 pounds. See pic. I envisioned myself attaching a rope and lofting it over a branch, but it is a little heavier than I expected so I will prob use this without filling up all the way. If I had to repurchase I would get the 2.5 gallon size as that would be plenty for me to shower and easier to manage.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I'm curious if you would recommend using two of these, as opposed to a 5-gallon bag? Many have said the 5-gallon bag is harder to use & pops easier.**
A: We just finished camping using a 5 gallon shower. It's nearly impossible to hoist 40 pounds of water overhead using a branch of a tree and then cinching the rope off to hold it in place. Also, if the sun doesn't heat the water sufficiently for a shower (think cloudy day), it takes a massive amount of boiling water to achieve a shower temperature in a 5 gallon tank. Adding 2 quarts of boiling water to a 2.5 gallon shower tank should be enough to achieve a desirable temperature.

**Q: How long does it take to heat up the water? Also, any ideas on something compact that we could take to hang it on?**
A: It depends on ambient temp and available sunlight. In direct sun when the air is in the 70s it can hit in excess of 110 degrees in about 3 hours. All the variables come into play, though: ambient temp, amount of sunlight, temp of water to begin with, etc. when ambient afternoon temp was 115 and morning temp in 70s, I filled half way in the morning, filled the rest of the way in the evening with cool water and immediately had a hot shower. It can easily get hot enough to scald you. As for something to hold it, water ways about 8.85 pounds per gallon. You have to have something sturdy enough to hold 50 pounds, basically.

**Q: I'd like to use this to wash dishes when I camp in the desert where water is scarce. Are you able to adjust the water flow to slow it down?**
A: I would say yes the water flow can be controlled 2 ways. Head nozzle out = high, head nozzele pushed back further, less flow. Then there is the on/off feature to control the flow as well. What I do is get in (we have a shower tent) turn it on then use the "less flow, with the head pushed back, wet down my hair and body, then turn it off. Next, I wash my body, then turn it on rinse my body and turn it off. Next I shampoo my hair, pull the head all the way out for "full flow" and turn it on to rinse then turn it off. Condition my hair, turn it on rinse, and turn it off. Sounds like quite the process, but if you think about it, it's really simple. This is the best way I've found when boon dock tent camping, with a limited water supply, to conserve water!!! Hope that helps y'all! Oh ya, I hang it up with support and also use it for hot water on tap when doing dishes and washing hands!!! With 2 its an easy set up!!! Happy trails to all wherever your going or whatever your doing, may peace and happiness follow you all of your days!!!

**Q: How much space will this take up in a suitcase?**
A: About the same space as an iPad or book...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ No more cold showers during power outages.
*by R***E on November 10, 2025*

No more cold showers during power outages. Thank you. Fill it up and just let it warm all day and it works great. Family thinks I'm odd for this but my showers are not cold when we have power outages. Tap warm is better than ice cold. It can also double as an extra water bag during grid break downs.
