We bought artificial grass carpet and cut holes for these cups. They work great. They aren't that thick, so the golf ball doesn't take extra force to get them over a hump to get into the cup. The grippy things really do grip to keep the ball in the cup once it gets there. The picture that shows up as I write the review is different than what I actually received. The flags didn't have numbers. And the cups have a grid, they aren't solid. This picture doesn't even show that they go in a cut out of the green. Review: Best I've tried, but not perfect - I use these on carpet, and they're good, but reject some putts that would drop on a golf course. Slower putts can be turned away by the slight slope instead of just making it to the cup, and faster putts that might circle the cup and drop, keep on going past. Requires more accuracy in speed, but can be helpful training. I also find the flags a distraction, so I cut them off just above the StarBall. I prefer a cup like these that doesn't have a square front or sides - I noticed that I use the edges as visual aids, and that my putts from a slight angle to the sides are way off. Update 10-11-16 Caught the star when stepping over one of these, and the plastic holding the star snapped right at the ring. Not very durable.
