This is a great option!--well, not so much after all
I already own a Breville juicer, and really like it a lot, but my daughter is using it at her house. I read reviews about lots of juicers and this one got some pretty mixed reviews. Since it is a Cuisinart, 1000 hp and a great, moderate price, I ordered one. It arrived yesterday but when we turned it to speed 4 or 5, the thing turned off!! And the pulp was really wet. I'd read a few reviews where this was a problem, so I contacted Amazon and with their usual efficiency, they had another one on a truck immediately. It was delivered this morning!! Wow! The new one fired right up and makes perfect juice with a dry pulp. I love this juicer! Love that it's stainless steel and so easy to clean. I also love that I can see how much juice is in the pitcher and how much pulp is in the hopper. Looking forward to using the Cuisinart lots in the future. Thanks again, Amazon for replacing it with NO hassle at all. After using this machine daily for over a month, I've become more and more unhappy with it. My main gripe is that the pulp is so wet that I can squeeze juice out of it. Also I see slices of apple and carrot in the hopper. I can get more juice out when I run the pulp through, but who wants that hassle in the morning? I'm packing this up and trying to get somebody to buy it from me. Just ordered a Breville to replace it because juicing has become a lifestyle for me and I'm not quitting!

BUY IT YOU'LL LOVE IT - JUICE FOR THE HEALTH OF IT!
This my first juicer and I searched all over the Internet for one. Not knowing if this was going to be a passing phase of become an everyday lifestyle change, I decided to buy one around $100.00, juice it to death and buy a more expensive one when the time came. I've been making smoothies forever with a Nutribullet using greens, but wanted to get into juicing. As with most everyone, I watched the movie "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" by Joe Cross. I don't need to lose weight, am already Vegan, just wanted to go the extra mile. I chose this model and couldn't be happier. It's easy to put together, easy to clean, big, and my pulp is dry! I have tried putting my pulp through a second time just to see if anything else would come through, but maybe only a dribble - not worth the trouble. I LOVE the dial and if you READ the instructions, you'll see that different fruits and veggies require different settings to get the most juice. A cucumber uses #1, oranges #2, carrots, apples #5. At first I wanted to crank it up to #5 and put them all through - don't do this. I was and cut up all my ingredients first. I set the dial and put the fruits and veggies in according to the settings. I get the best juice ever. I usually make two 32oz juices per day, Joe's Mean Green as my morning juice. The filter basket is hard for me to get off, but easy for me to clean. I clean the outside with a different, larger kitchen brush, rinse that side, then brush the inside of the filter basked with soap, rinse and it's perfectly clean. All other pieces are so easy to rinse and clean. Do not scrub the plastic as you will scratch it. The machine is loud, but that doesn't bother me one bit. The Cuisinart CJE-1000 is heavy duty, won't operate without the clasp on, so easy to use, looks great on my counter, affordable and a fantastic choice. The feeding tube is huge and you won't believe how many whole apples, oranges, cucumbers will go right in. This purchase has not made this a passing phase, but a daily addition to an already healthy lifestyle. I'm 62 and going strong!

Great Machine, great price! Best overall Juicer
I researched juicers for a month before buying this one and I was not disappointed. I wanted something that would be much better than a typical Walmart brand- not $500 either, but above average quality that worked well and would last. This was a steal! I've read the other reviews here about mushy pulp and such...they are not completely accurate. It has to do with two things...how fresh/crisp or old/mushy is your produce? And two, are you using the right speed? Softer items like oranges use speed 1, while hard crisp apples or pineapple use speed 5. (See the video) I noticed my pulp was literally bone dry except a time or two I had pretty much last day apples that were getting soft. I also changed the speed according to what I'm juicing. It's a snap to clean up too, I was weary of having to clean it constantly but it literally takes less than 5 minutes. I just rinse everything well and then dishwasher once a week. The hardest part to clean is the basket mesh (as with probably all juicers). The basket has to be done everytime and will take 2-3 of your 5 minutes.(the brush helps) It easily takes whole oranges and most apples. Multiple whole carrots and celery stalks are not a problem. If I HAD to complain about something it would be the size of the pitcher. It's 32oz which is more than fine for most people. But I know some people like myself only want to have to clean this thing once a day and so like to make a few glasses at a time. I seal in a couple of Ball jars, stick in the fridge and drink over the next 24-48 hrs. This would only hinder someone drinking 5+ glasses of juice a day of course. Most people are only going to drink 12-20oz once or twice a day. My solution was to set the whole thing up a little higher on a block of wood and put a real pitcher under it. :)

Honest & Fair Review-READ!
I was inspired to buy a juicer after watching the documentaries "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead", "Forks Over Knives", "Food Inc.", and "Food Matters". I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a Breville and this has many of the same features. The 1000 watt motor is powerful enough to easily juice just about everything. I've used it with apples, kale, carrots, spinach, strawberries, peaches, pears, blueberries, grapes, starfruit, cranberries, and pineapple just to name a few. I've used it twice a day for almost 3 weeks (at the time of this review) and have noticed good and bad... PROS: -Powerful 1000w motor comparable or better than any Breville at the same price range. -5 different settings to adjust for softer/harder fruits and veggies -Very Quiet -Anti-Froth pitcher works great CONS: -You have to clean the juicer immediately after you're done juicing (so I usually have to wait before I can even enjoy the juice I just made)The mesh screen can be a pain to clean. The included brush helps but you always have to get the teeth, the inside, the outside AND UNSCREW the teeth to get under the metal plate, then RESCREW it back together. -The big plastic lid has some areas that are hard to reach when cleaning, even when using a dish washer. -Pulp can be a little wet at times but I've noticed that it somewhat depends on what you're juicing (using more fruits is going to give you some wet pulp but a more veggie heavy juice isn't as wet) TIPS: -Always put an empty plastic bag (like the type you get from the grocery store) in the pulp catcher because it makes clean up so easy...lift the plastic bag out and throw it away (or use the pulp to make compost). The pulp catcher will never need more than maybe a rinse by using a plastic bag. -I usually have a glass ready with ice in it to pour my juice over. I personally think all juices taste better over ice. You could also throw the juice into a blender with some bananas, nuts, or whatever you like! Endless possibilities! (smoothies, etc...) RESPONSE TO COMPLAINTS: Some people on here complain about wet pulp or not enough juice but HELLO you're spending less than $150 on a juicer! If you want the top shelf then go spend the $300-$500 on higher end models!!! For what you're paying, THERE IS NO BETTER JUICER FOR UNDER $150! You get a lot for your money even with the minor flaws! I wouldn't go to a car dealership and expect to get a Cadillac or Mercedes Benz with all the bells and whistles if I only had $10,000!! If you want top shelf then go buy top shelf! Cuisinart was obviously going for something middle of the road that encompassed similar features to high end models but at a more affordable price (by using more plastic parts basically). Be sure to read the entire manual to make sure you're doing everything correct. I even make sure to juice everything on the proper 1-5 setting since not everything needs to be on 5. Overall this is a great juicer that has all the features and power of a Breville but at half the cost. I would highly reccommend this if you're new to juicing. If you're looking for more of a high end, everyday juicer, then go shell out double the cost of this and be happy instead of buying this and complaining that it's not what you expected!

Highly Recommended Juicer! Powerful yet not as loud as Breville!!
My aunt got me into juicing and so l started looking for a good juicer of my own. My aunt had Breville and I was initially going to get the same but did not realize how expensive it was. I did a search for other juicers in amazon and found this one on sale for $109. I also had a $10 gift card at the time which would make this $99! I still did not buy it right away though. Did some research and read some more reviews even went to Carson's (mall) to check it out in person. They too had it on sale for $150. I looked at it and it looked solid! I was sold for $99. I was very anxious to try it and the first time I used it, it was impressive. It wasn't as loud as my aunt's breville - in fact, I would consider this very quiet compared to the breville. The breville can wake up the neighbors! It is also powerful! It juices beetroots with ease along with the other fruits and veggies i throw at it. I've been using it for a while now and I am very happy with it. It does comes apart for easy cleaning but the strain is not easy to take out - which is understandable. You don't want that thing popping out while its spinning at those speeds with those sharp blades! I also put a small plastic bag on the pulp container - this way, I just throw out the bag after juicing. I do recommend that you wash it every time you use it so it does not stain. Overall, this was a very good deal for an excellent product!!

Tried 3, Love This One Best
I bought this machine (Cuisinart CJE-1000) first, as I wasn't sure if I would be juicing every day, or if I would give it up once the high of "I'm going to be SO healthy" wore off. Well, it didn't wear off. I love juicing, and have given up supper to juice every evening (except when I go out with friends, of course). I feel so much better the next morning. Sometimes I juice in the mornings as well...but I digress. The machine is easy to set up and use, juices very quickly, and the "leavings" are mostly dry. I've seen plenty of people comment that a masticating juicer will give you more juice. I call BS on that. I just bought an Omega J8006, thinking that hey, I'm juicing every day, so I need a SERIOUS juicer. Also because this Cuisinart will not do greens and wheatgrass. (Just spits most of your greens back into the leavings container.) For juicing vegetables and fruits, this Cuisinart beats the Omega hands down. More juice, more leavings, the leavings were more dry in the Cuisinart basket than the Omega. Way less time to juice. Bigger chunks of produce - for example, I put three full carrots at a time in the Cuisinart. In the Omega, you can only put one, and if it's a big carrot, you need to cut it up first. As if. The Omega rocked out the wheatgrass and spinach (although it took forever putting a few leaves of spinach at a time down the Omega's tiny chute). This Cuisinart has me spoiled. I'm actually thinking about buying a second one, just in case this one ever dies. I've used it for a few months now and still love it like the day I first used it. If you want to do wheatgrass as well, you can always get the Chef's Star manual one. It works pretty well. But if you have dreams of juicing a big salad full of produce every evening and then congratulating yourself on all the nutrients your body just absorbed, you need this one. It's fabulous.

Not Exciting
So after about a month of research I selected the Cuisinart CJE-1000 as my juicer of choice. It had variable speeds a powerful motor and pretty good reviews most importantly though it was a pretty good deal. Got it and immediately opened it and washed everything. It was easy to take apart and put together. Went ahead and juiced my first veggies and fruits. It did a fairly good job overall; pears, apples, oranges, broccoli, asparagus and some cucumber. Pulp was a bit wetter than what I had hoped but wasn't really disappointed in the performance. Made juice a few times over the course of three days and the cleaning of the unit was easy and not very time consuming. The reason I only have given the machine three stars is because of the performance when it came to spinach and pineapple, did very well with romaine lettuce and other citrus. The pulp is extremely wet, even when ran through again, I know a centrifugal juicer isn't going to be the best at these but thought it would have performed better than it has. So overall I'm not disappointed in the performance but not overwhelmed either. We'll see how it goes over the next few weeks and maybe my opinion will change.

An honest review for a grate product
let talk about this JUICER If you are looking to get healthy or just to incorporate juice into your daily life i would say take the plunge and get this juicer. Firstly when i open the package the juicer was nicely package no breakage and that is always a plus when buying such expensive electronic. secondly it was very and i mean very easy to assemble but if you get into any trouble putting it together the instruction is very helpful. Now lets get to how good this work at juicing your fruits and vegetable, let me just say its awesome at juicing your fruits and vegetable. Your juice comes out very smooth and yummy and tasty yammy too, I personally buy organic fruits and vegetable so its just that more yammy. I will advise you if you can afford to get organic fruits and vegetable then get it i am telling you this juicer is powerful it give you a very very smooth juice and it taste awesome. I have a nutribullet that i have been using for years now, but honestly since i purchase this which is two weeks now this is all i have been using and i think this will be replacing my nutribullet for the future. CONS: The only problem for me personally is cleaning it, this juicer have quite a few parts so it will take about 5 min to wash it so if your are someone who don't have the time to stand and wash something for 5 min then i will tell not to get it, but come on for the money and the result i don't mind it. It for my health and body so why not, what i usually do is juice in the morning and don't wash it, i will just empty the bin with all the mess and put it back because i know i will juice for lunch and dinner. After dinner i will take the juicer apart and give it a good wash and and i am good to go for the next day. So that is something to keep in mine if you are looking to buy a good juicer that will do the job.

No tiembla, no hace ruido, ....
