LX65R 65 Watt Guitar Combo

Laney LX65R Solid State Guitar Amplifier Review If you're looking for a rugged guitar amp that can be used both on and off the road, then the Laney LX65r is the amp for you. The LX65R is a solid state amp that houses a 1x12" Celestion speaker which definitely packs a punch. And if thats not enough, the LX65r can be hooked up to the LX412a cabinet which houses four more Celestion speakers. The LX65R is also is a twin channel amp with your clean and distortion settings. It does have one effect and that is the reverb. The amp also has your basic cd input and headphone jack. You can also hook up a fs2 to change between the two channels (not included with the amp). It also has a CD/MP3 input so you can play along to your favorite music. This amp is designed to be thrown around and take a beating and it also has a cool kick proof metal grille. I purchased this amp a little over a year ago at my local music store. I had traded a 35 watt Laney Prism for the LX65R because I really wanted something a little bigger. From the day I bought it, I have loved this amp and it has a great clean sound for a solid state amp. Laney is also known for having excellent distortion on their amps. I use a distortion pedal most of the time because I find that when the amp is not turned up loud, the distortion on it seems a little weak. But, when I play gigs and the amp is turned up, the distortion is fantastic. I chose this amp over other similar models because of the sound quality for the clean channel. I enjoy playing all kinds of genres of music and the Laney is a great all around amp for that. I play more rock than anything and Laney is well known for having a great rock sound. This amp has never let me down and always provides 100% power. The amp is also quite loud as far as 65 watt amps go and is perfect for lugging to gigs because its light and durable. The amp ways just about 40 pounds. So if anyone is looking for a great sounding and powerful guitar amp, then the Laney LX65R is a great choice from beginners all the way up to people who have been playing all of their life. I give this amp a 9/10 for an overall rating. This is because it is durable, well sounding, and it looks cool too. The only reason it didn't get a ten is that the distortion is weak when it is at lower volumes. And if you're not a big fan of solid state amps, Laney also offers some excellent tube amps, such as the VC or the Lionheart. And another thing about the LX65r is it is not extremely expensive and sells anywhere from 3 - 400 dollars. Laney offers the Lx model in 12, 20, 35,65 and the 120 twin.

1) This amplifier sounds terrible 2) Usually budget/solid state amps have a good, crisp clean sound and a poor drive channel, this has POOR clean and drive channels 3) I'm not a Laney hater, I have a good Laney 2x12 cab and lionheart amp head 4) I THINK that the LX amp series replaced the - LV100/200/300 range of amps, the LV' amp was much better and they discontinued it? 5) I'm not comparing this amp to an expensive alternative - for the same price you can buy a Boss Katana, or one of the Orange Crush amps - both alternative are infinitely better 6) EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS AMPLIFIER, FROM A USUALLY FORMIDABLE COMPANY
