I especially love the fact that I can store the fasteners and the gems inside the base of the machine; what a great way to save space and keep things neat! I even bought a couple of refill packs because I knew that I would love this from the get-go. The fastener system used here makes it possible to change up the gem colors if you wish to go for a different look, and that is really great to have. Plus, there's no need for batteries - obvious bonus; all you need to have is hand power, the materials and a vivid imagination to create something new from something old!The one issue I did have with it was the hole punch tool on the decorator machine - it tends to punch even when you're trying to attach the fastener. My solution is to practice on an old shirt first and read the instructions... you know, get used to the product before finalizing what you'd like to decorate. Mark where you want to punch first and keep a steady hand when you do so - it'll make for a more enjoyable experience!Still, it is a pretty nice toy, no matter what your age is! If you want something classic, that's fine, but the Gem Decorator is something simple for girls that aren't quite old enough for Bedazzlers.
