The thin pad goes on the top. Only if your installing a heat sink. Which in that case, you need to remove the sticker with the serial numbers and part numbers. ( They will void the warranty ) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Operating temp dropped 16C *by T***M on April 21, 2021* I installed this cooling pad between my M.2 2280 and the motherboard and saw a drop in the SSD's operating temp from 52C to 36C. Excellent job for an $8 part. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's thermal pads for M.2 SSD's *by D***2 on March 12, 2023* I liked that you got 2 thicknesses.
