It's actually what I call a faille fabric--you older ladies will know what I mean. Fabric does not look cheap at all, and it arrives with a teflon coating to protect the shoe from spots & stains. That's a nice bonus. Fits just right. I'm a true 8M and ordered 8M. My toes are not squished, even with my bunion on one foot. Favorite thing about this shoe is that the toe box is fairly roomy, and yet the heel strap stays in place around my narrow heel. I wear the strap in the middle hole, and there are several holes on either side for adjustment. I have found this to be true for most Hommerson styles--room in the toes without walking out of the shoe. This is a dressy shoe in the fabric; will look great with any dress that calls for a strappy-style black shoe. Excellent service from Amazon--free shipping & free returns. This is only the second pair of shoes I've ordered from Amazon. I was worried because I usually go to that huge online shoe website that begins with Z. No need to worry.
