They were exposed to salted snowy roads, mountain forests, jungles, deserts, beaches, and city streets. I REPLACED THE INSOLES before my journey. The standard insoles are alright for a couple hours at a time. I replaced them with the superfeet orange (high-impact, performance, and comfort). The Insoles fit well and take up some extra room in the overly spacious toe box. I conditioned my pair about every 10 days with coconut oil only. No wax, no polish. After about 80 days of continuous wear a couple stitchings frayed and broke. These areas had another parallel stitching so the damage was minimal and easily repaired for Rs 200 ($3.33).My ratings are as followed on a 1-5 scale:Comfort: 4 (replaced the insoles)Durability: 5Dry Climates: 4 (sand and dirt are no issue when laced appropriately)Wet Climates: 2 (unwaxed leather)Cold weather: 3 (no insulation)Hot weather: 3 (poor ventilation)Rocky terrain: 4 (flexible foot bed and leather)Treads: 5 (superior traction in most conditions. aggressive enough for mountain hiking)Recommendations:1. replace the insole2. condition the leather3. wear wool socks (hiking socks)4. avoid wearing in salted paths5. order according to centimeters, not the US sizing*The amazon picture of the boot skews the image drastically*The Ngola is a great looking boot and will take care of your feet as long as you take care of the boot.
