Not flowery, not checkerboard, not too plain. There is no edging on this so you can cut to fit your table. For some reason I thought this was flocked on the underside, but it's not. Very Scandinavian/hygge feeling. It's durable (print doesn't wipe off) and very hard to stain. However upon opening I noticed a small crack in the vinyl along the folded line it came packaged in. I'm hoping this is a defect and I'll continue to use it, but I'm worried the crack will grow over time.Edit: I contacted the manufacturer regarding the crack and they were more than willing to work with me towards a mutual solution.
