I borrowed this from the library before buying it, that's how much I like it. It's a fine value and resource. One great aspect is that each pattern comes labeled with difficulty level. The book is very well organized, with knit patterns on the left-side pages and crochet patterns on the right. There's only one drawback: each pattern comes with the number of stitches needed to make a swatch of the motif, *not* the actual number of stitches required for a specific project, so readers must figure the number of "stitches across" on their own, by using multiples of the swatch pattern. (This is not difficult.) Additionally, several "projects" are included, telling you exactly how to create the item pictured. If you're looking for a wide variety of effects and alternate ways of creating a pattern, then this is for you, regardless of skill level. The stitch guide and an explanation of yarn types are useful.
