To the surprise of many, the bald cypress does quite well when planted in the right soil in yards or along streets and is a beautiful specimen tree. It has been grown successfully in cities as far north as Milwaukee and on dry Texas hills. Review: Nothing jumbo about them - Gave 4 stars instead of 3, only because I ordered 2 and they sent me 3 trees. These trees are not "jumbo" at all. About 28 inches from the top to the end of the roots and the thickness at the base is barely as thick as a #2 pencil. Review: Smaller than expected when arrived, Didn't make it through the winter - Planted exactly as suggested, grew very little before fall, lost all its needles first frost and NOT comming back this spring, and we have had a very mild winter here in TN.
