Not waterproof, but wouldn't expect it at this price. Clips didn't break after open and closing 2 or 3 times, so that puts them ahead of most. The sizing for 5 batteries is odd, but if you're using a device that runs 2 batteries, and you these in sets of 2, then I guess that evens out. That said, layout works well with 1-4 batteries too. They won't be flopping all over the place if you don't have 5 in there. So these offer more protection than the 'magazines' I've see, but are not actually crush proof. So far, more than adequate for tossing spares in my work bag. Case hasn't come open on it's own yet. Batteries haven't been damaged riding in my overstuffed work bag. Good protection for the cost.
