Both broke in less than a year. This is one of five different kinds of power drills they've collected and it by far goes the fastest and is the easiest to use (and is one of the most realistic looking, second only to the Bosch) so that's why I bought a replacement after the first one broke in about 6-9 months. The second one lasted about the same amount of time. It was their favorite drill so it was used and abused the most, but even still all the other drills are still going strong. I don't think I'm going to go for a third one, but if you have kids that are gentle with toys or don't mind that it won't last very long, this drill is the best.Original review:Two year old loved this drill. Mission accomplished and it has become a favorite toy that two months later is still played with. Very similar to dad's drill/driver ... forward, reverse, removable battery even variable speed (it seems). There is a clutch-like mechanism so even if it jams (e.g. bit is held onto or put on something that doesn't allow it to turn) the drill clicks and does not break or stall.
