This part is an exact replacement and is even made by the same manufacturer as the fan already in the MacBook. Fitting was simple enough - undo the eight case screws underneath, then undo the three torx screws on the fan, disconnect the cable (it lifts up and off), remove old fan and clean some of the dust and fluff out of the vent, then fit new fan, re-assemble - remembering to plug the fan cable in to the logic board(!) and.... bliss!
