If the fan is disconnected, then you have received a broken unit. We recently had a small manufacturing error and defective units were accidentally sent to Amazon. Two discs can be cut from one sheet, and has the advantage of being double sided. Seemed to work just as well. MUCH less expensive and more readily available than the Katchy glue boards. Please understand that my problem was with fungus gnats. If you problem is with some other type of insect, your milage may vary. **Q: Hi, this product came with glue boards? or I need to buy it separately** A: Thank you for the question! :) All the KATCHY insect traps come with 4 glue boards already included in the package.
