Two units were purchased and tested thoroughly. One unit was actually bad. The "good" unit was slower on the firewire 800 interface than on standard USB 2.0 and this unit was slower than a cheap USB only unit I have had for many years. I will summarize that the Firewire interface provided is for connector convenience only and does not provide the speed increase that Firewire would normally provide.
