A full sized dinner plate occults the display completely. A small dessert plate still covers the utter majority of the screen, making me somewhat wish for a pullout display. Perhaps a small plastic bowl would do as a vessel for measuring if you wanted one.It certainly does wipe down clean. And it also does cut a handsome figure when displayed out on the counter-top and if you absolutely had too, its low profile allows it to fit easily into drawers. The only fault I could find with it aesthetically is that the tempered glass top allows one to easily see all the dust that settles on it. Wipe it down every now and then!The display is the blue as is shown in the picture and with very good contrast I might add. It's built in such that its clearest when viewed a few inches away from the device. Hovering over it like a crane is not a very good idea and the display is impossible to read at all from a full arm's distance so if you need to glance over it and be someplace else at the same time this probably won't work for you.It's inexpensive at less than 20 bucks and since it does have a higher weighing capacity at 11lbs than some at twice the price it is an excellent value. In conclusion this is one of those products that I'm happy to have dug though a great many similar on Amazon to find. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, looks great *by M***M on December 8, 2015* Works great, looks great, no complaints! It's easy to use (just a couple of buttons) and it's very nice to be able to easily toggle between settings with the buttons on the top of the scale. It fits nicely on my kitchen counter and it looks awesome, too. It's not an awkward white or stainless thing that looks out of place, it's a nice sleek addition to my kitchen gadgets. It's not as sensitive when you get down to under an ounce but that's to be expected. I've had no issues with any recipes and anything that I've portioned out has been within 1 when compared to the average number of servings listed on the package. Only issue was that the first one came completely smashed. Not sure if that was an amazon thing or a mail thing but it was replaced quickly and easily. Being tempered glass it may break if dropped but that also makes them scratch resistant and easy to wipe clean. At under $5 each they are an exceptional value with all the features of similar scales selling for three to four times the price.
