It arrives on a Pallette, drop shipped directly from EMAX HQ to your door.It will run hot the first time you use it, it should run colder after that, it will have a warm-up/break in period. Mine doesn't run that often so I don't notice the heat much. You can save yourself a little expense by buying this unit and running the line out into a 30-40 gallon third party tank for additional air capacity just make sure the pressure specs exceed the intake pressure (170+ PSI). Make sure you match the diameter of the output size with the tank you plan to link it to or your CFM performance will suffer. Maximum performance spec of 175 psi at 34 CFM. You will need a minimum of a dedicated 50 amp breaker to run this item, it's rated at 47.8 amps of in-rush current. I recommend putting it on a 60 amp breaker.The pump duty cycle is 65 percent, according to the manufacturer of the pump if you were to exceed that it would void the warranty of the pump.Do buy yourself a pallete jack this item weighs 800+ pounds when shipped, the advantage of leaving it on the pallet is you can move it around whenever you want (it's bolted to the pallete) and you can also use the pallete as a frame to build a noise containment housing for it. There is no vibration noise coming from it and the pallete absorbs the rest.If you are buying this for the first time, in order to connect up an airline you will need a 3/4 x 1/2 reducer plug and possibly an additional 1/2 x 1/4 reducer plug. Various hardware stores should stock these if you look around. The ball valve on the unit I received was a 3/4" output.These tend to be shipped in large trucks so make sure you do not live on a culdesac or other area that won't permit delivery by a 32+ foot trailer towed by a semi truck (if delivery to a residential, request lift gate). You could save some cash if you have a truck or can rent a moving van with a heavy lift gate on the back and just pick it up at the shipping depot yourself.I docked it some cool points for the cosmetic stuff, lack of documentation and lack of fittings to permit me immediate use of it.All-in-all when it arrived it, looked great and was extremely simple to wire up and start.
