It was my first time having strozzapreti shaped pasta.Unlike most others, I am not fond of al dente, but I don't like mushy either. These cooked perfectly to my tastes at 15 minutes, still being solid but not chewy.The flavor was very nice. Grocery store pasta is simply a holder for sauce and by itself is like eating something tasteless. Real Italian pasta like this has its own flavor. I served it to my family with a marinara sauce and chicken parmesan first. It held the sauce well. I then used leftover cooked pasta in a casserole with vegetables and beef gravy for lunch for my son the next day. It was so much better than macaroni or egg noodles as it held up well to the reheating, still had texture and and the ingredients did not slide off.For me the real test is do I want to eat it simply with butter or olive oil, pepper and garlic? A definite yes for this pasta.I will buy more of this brand and the strozzapreti shaped pasta.
