Stage A170 ea floor-standing speaker

Terrific sound

I am using these smaller tower speakers in a small room driven by a Yamaha RX-v863. Very crisp and great imaging with how I have them positioned. The Bass response is very good and impactful and would even be better I'm sure if I added an extra power amp but for now I am very content. Highly recommended especially if you can find them on sale.

Amazing clarity of sound and these speakers are often on sale on official JBL site. I use them as TV speakers playing music and movies via TV. I use a quality budget stereo amplifier (aiyima a07 tpa3255) and a budget subwoofer (Klipsch 12” at Costco). I like the plastic matt finish of the speakers and especially the rounded edges for the front panel. The front grills seem to affect the sound at the high frequencies - try to listen with/without the grills. I also like the fact that the speakers aren’t too heavy and I can easily move them between the main room and the basement.

I needed new speakers for my vintage Rotel and Nad 2 Chanel system and got these for the Black Friday price of 425 and couldn't be happier. Every thing from Sunday morning baroque Patrica Barber and AC/DC sounds great. These play loud and clear and no need for a sub and on many recordings it sounds like I am running a center channel also.I am very pleased with these and they put a smile on my face when I crank up AC/DC. A solid 4 star.

Steve Guttenberg raves about these. My initial impression is that the praise is worthwhile. They have a nice voicing. They sound warm and detailed. The bass can be quite good but they will benefit from a sub if you have one. These are much better than the KEF’s they replaced, albeit they were bookshelfs. These are keepers for me👍
