One of my favorite podcasts rapsodised wildly about this product so I had high hopes for it. It certainly looks delicious in the picture, all dark golden brown. Glazed to a perfect caramelized deliciosness. Look at how proudly they stand up in their homey glass jars. This is a bacon that does a pig proud. That is not what arrived by along shot. What arrived was thickish slabs of limp pig. In fact the only way that I could have gotten what arrived to look like that picture was by backing it with plywood and shellacking the whole thing in 5-6 coats of varnish. The product that arrived was unpleasantly greasy with sugar crystals that might have seen an oven long enough to be terrified into staying put on the slick surface. The entire inside of the bag felt like it had been used by a grease elemental as a sauna. The bacon was flabby. One entire slice was essentially inedible because it was simply one long strip of undercooked fat. No meat just fat. Had I chosen to I could have likely squeezed enough grease out of it to fry an entire pan of potatoes and likely an egg or three.
