Leaves that cooling feeling for about 10-20 mins. Smell dissipates an mellows into a nice settle smell after about that time too. You gotta really love menthol to truly love this scent, it's old school barber shop stuff. Younger guys tend to shy away from it but I like it. **Q: Is this basically the same thing as the hair tonic, just with menthol?** A: No. This is an aftershave. The main active incredient is alchohol with some menthol and spicy aromas. I like it because the aroma is not overpowering, and fades fast. You can, and my barber does, rub some in my hair after a trim, but just for the smell. **Q: Would the smell overpower that of a regular shave cream?** A: If you mean will it overpower whatever scent is left on your skin after you rinse off the cream, yes. But the scent is short-lived.
