We used to salt a bottle of wine so we didn't drink it (haha) but this is much more convenient and works fantastically well when making any sauces or gravies that want that wine flavour and acidity adding. Keep ours in the freezer. If it will last 6 months otherwise, it'll last a year in there easily.
