**Q: Can you lay another mat on top of the heated mat to scrape snow off shoes?**
A: We do not recommend placing anything on top of the HeatTrak mats doing so would cause the mat to overheat by not letting the heat escape properly.

**Q: If I have three steps and buy three stair mats plus one power source, do I also need two extension cords?**
A: No you don't need extension cords in your situation. Each heated stair mat comes with it's own built-in connector cables to allow the stairs to daisy chain. The extension cable would only be necessary if a) you have very deep steps, more than 15 inches deep-- not typical, or b) you want to connect stairs to walkway mats. Hope this helps.
