What it this gsm/cdma or both?

There are truly "unlocked" models sold by Google, which support both GSM and CDMA. When looking at the third party sellers, make sure they are selling the unlocked model from the Google Store. Ones purchased from or resold from Verizon or Best Buy will be specific to that carrier, and setup for CDMA.

Model ga00463-us is a verizon version although description says it's unlocked. if i buy this item will i get unlocked (ga00457-us) version as needed?

It could have been initially sold as a Verizon version but made unlocked! Just verify with the seller that it's actually unlocked.
