I have a 2000 Ford F350 with the 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel engine and only 86,000 miles on the odometer. At 235 HP I wanted a little more power when pulling my 38' fifth wheel camper. The option of buying a later model truck with more power had the drawback, of a less reliable engine because of added antipollution components, and the fact that the 7.3 is a proven reliable work horse.The option of a tuner made sense. I chose the Edge tuner because: Option "0" allows me to set it back to stock tuning, option 1, is a very safe tuning mode that adds 65 HP, and puts my engine in the 300 hp range (25% increase) Diagnostic feature allows the read fault codes and their history.The pod fits perfectly and does not look like an add-on after market product.If that was not good enough, it came with two instructions and installation manuals, one for the pod and one for the programmer. Both manuals include easy and detailed instructions, with added pictures and sketches. You can build custom programs if you want but I see myself just using the packaged programs. I have only used "level 1" so far because I haven't done anything with the exhaust yet but towing my 5th wheel recently the truck obviously performed better and got noticeably better mileage. I also ate a Dodge for breakfast on one of the better known hills in the area. I am looking forward to using "level 2" once I have some exhaust on it.Installation: The only problem I had was getting the TC wire through the firewall. My truck does not have a bunch of holes in the firewall to choose from, as the instructions would suggest. I eventually looped it through the hole in the floor for my transfer case shifter and under the carpet back to the dash. Not as clean and kind of a pain but should work out OK. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great power improvement small MPG improvement. *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2014* The power gains are immediate and an incredible benifit. I keep it on the highest setting all the time. Make sure you are in 4 wheel drive and pointed in a straight line when you decide to floor it otherwise your 8000 pound F350 gets real oversteer. However even when behaving myself and driving normally my MPG only went from 15.1 average to 15.2 noMatter what setting. That is the only disappointment. Definitely I recommend this. Cold air intakes and a GTP38R would put more O2 in the combustion chamber and clear up smoke on full acceleration and give lower EGT as well.
