GE JVX5300SJSS Convertible Range Hood Venting System, Solid Black

I bought this product last November, but because of a leg injury was able to install it a week ago.I tuned on the lights first and they worked properly.Ran the fan on low seemed OK, then medium it vibrated a little, but seemed OK, then on high is when the whole hood shakes and the fan noise unbearable.This hood is replacing my older GE hood that worked OK, but I wanted to replace it with a stainless one to match my new appliances.I have tried to contact the seller Cybersavings twice now. I have not heard anything since my first message I sent on Saturday and it is Thursday.I sent another note today asking for an exchange, not a refund.I will keep you posted on their response.I will reach out to Amazon if I cannot get resolution on this.

Unit looks great and fits as described. But the is Not one of the best built units for the price! The mounting hardware is Not of the best quality and needed modification to work in a standard cabinet configuration, the screws included to hang the unit were Not of the appropriate size for the included bracket. Watch that the screws for the mounting brackets as they were long enough to protrude through the cabinet sides, caught this before installation. Also just from shipping and or manufacturing a couple of the spot welds had broken loose letting the front panel hang loose. After installation the fan is So Out of Balance that the unit wants to shake itself off the cabinet. Will try to resolve these issues as the unit looks great but is Not up to my standards. Too bad in this day and age that things are made to minimal standards. Good luck with your purchase as this one may have been a fluke?

Lights do not work.Feels very cheaply constructed, fragile. One of the mesh filters barely fits, takes careful pressure on edge to get it to snap in.No charcoal filter included for recirculation installs. Very expensive direct from GE and hard to find from retailers. None available on Amazon.Airflow on fan very good, though I wish there was one more setting between medium and high. High is a big jump from medium in noise.Fan is offset and seems to provide more suction on left side. I typically use my right side burner due to my range's asymmetric design.Offers three install options. Recirculate, vent out top (rectangle), vent out top (circle), and vent out back (rectangle). Bought to later vent to outside so the options will help.

This hood works as advertised. Easy install, although I didn't install myself. Installer is handy and in construction business. Some modifications had to be made to adapt to existing duct work, but that is no fault of the product. Hood works well, provides good light and exhaust function works well. I would prefer LED lights as the halogens do get hot, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I would purchase this range hood agian and would recommend to others.

Buy at your own risk. Very poor quality, the worst I have ever bought from an Amazon dealer.The screws were falling out of the main body of the fan Had to replace the missing screws. Then the lights won't turn on and the bulbs are very hard to remove. Until I can find an omh metter, we can't tell if the two bulbs are bad or if both bulb sockets are badly wired. The bulbs are plugged into two sockets that are just hanging in place without any secured seating. When you pull on the bulbs the sockets into which they are plugged fall down. This poor workmanship is costing me a lost. I hired an installer and I have to pay him for struggling with the unit. I will have to pay another installer to have it removed and will have to pay another or the same installer to install a new one. I do not recommend this unit to anyone and for me the seller of such a poor product is questionable.
