There were not.The screw holes in the slats were so close to the edge that I put half my weight on it and the wood split at the screw, and the slat broke in half.There are 4 slats with no middle support. Then when I tried to replace the middle slat with the end slat so he could at least sleep on it, the screw stripped.This was supposed to be my son's birthday surprise, but he gets to sleep on a mattress on the floor tonight. (Yes, we do have the Rowen, so it is the correct conversion kit). The rails had no predrilled holes for the slats and the slats alone wouldn’t hold the mattress.
