Working voltage must not be less. Higher vac is ok, but may be larger. **Q: I have a hunter fan that flashes the lights. Its capacitor is rated at 4.5 uf, 100 vac with two wires (red & white). Will this 250 vac cap work?** A: Yes. You can always go higher in working voltage never lower. This cap is only for starting motor and has nothing to do with lights. Make sure bulbs are seated firmly in sockets. Are you using LED lights? Hunter only offered the whole center cap with both caps and switched all wired up, EXCEPT, they no longer sell it. I bought both caps, not knowing which was bad. ( I have two identical fans, installed at the same time. One always ran much slower. I replaced both caps in the slower one. Fixed.)
