I have been on the look out for a decent size amplifier and speakers that could fit in a certain space. I was frustrated by the height of the bookshelf speakers available. Therefore, I saw this unit which I knew what the sound was like. Speakers and system fitted perfect in the space and the sound is excellent. I connected to my turntable and if I had a slight grumble is the mechanical sound of the turntable, but this may be attributed to the turntable itself. The only other gripe is the size of the remote control - goodness its too big. But glad I purchased. Review: Excellent value for money! - This is the 2nd of these units purchased. Paid full price from Curry’s. Due to price difference, expected minor scrapes/scratches - but came through in mint condition & in original box. Only thing missing was operating manual but as already got the same, didn’t matter. Easy enough to DL now anyway. Only minor gripe was warranty, when asked if still get full 12mths guarantee, was told as unit been previously opened it wouldn’t apply. Communication was prompt from seller, as was delivery. I’d certainly buy from them again. Many thanks in advance ;-D** A: Sound quality is ok with the speakers it comes with. However I changed my speakers to Q3030 speakers (£99) and it sounds excellent. But for this total cost you should consider a mini system from Denon or Yamaha instead. The bass on this system is excellent, and it goes very loud for a small system. **Q: can i attatch a turntable to this stereo** A: It has two aux line in/out connetions ( I have added a tape deck and better CD player to these). Thanks. ### ⭐⭐ Quite possibly the worst thing I've ever bought *by M***N on 27 November 2023* When I first got the JVC hi fi it seemed great. Sound was nice - looked great and seemed good value for money. It's not been a year yet and it's touch and go wether a cd will load - keeps saying no cd. Sometimes it doesn't even do that, it just makes an awful racket whilst trying to load. There's a horrible high pitch buzz which seems to be linked to the brightness setting of the display - if you have it dim it's at it's quietest. Wish I could turn it off. And the latest thing I've discovered is the tweeters seem to be not working at all!
