Most stands have a larger hole than this one. If you're looking for a tree stand for a smaller tree, this one works great. My tree is supposedly a 6-foot tree, but it's one of those with a single branch sticking up to make it 6 feet, so it's actually shorter than that. This base came in a few pieces that were very easy to assemble and it is super sturdy.
