Replacing it looked like too much work. We used the product properly (make sure to look this up before using it) and then we unhooked the hoses from both ends of the heater core and used a garden hose to force water though the core. We did this until the water ran clean and we switched hoses (water flow directions). It took about 6 times on each hose before both ends ran entirely clear water. I then completely drained the system again and filled it with Motorcraft Orange 50/50 premix coolant.
