Brightness can't be adjusted! **Q: How many leds can I run from a single 12v 1A power supply?** A: These are bright LEDs and only require about 10mA to give a decent glow. You cannot connect an LED directly to a 12v power supply as it will burn out. Depending on the LED colour, each colour type will exhibit a different volt drop. Red is about 1.2v, green will be higher because of the doping required in the semiconductor PN junction. So connecting a 12v power supply will require a resistor in series with the LED. You need to calculate what resistor value and wattage is required in series with the LED based on a 12v supply. You use Ohms Law to do this. LEDs are never connected in series as the volt drop reduces from one LED to the next and each LED down the line will be dimmer than the one before it. So you need to connect them in parallel. This becomes more complicated to calculate taking into account different LEDs colours have a differerend volt drop as mentioned above. If they are all the same colour, say red, you know the volt drop for each one and you can calculate the required resistor value and wattage. **Q: Do these have a built in resistor current limiting resistor?** A: There are two different voltage ratings so you would need a suitable resistor for each.
