Would be cool if it did though/was all plastic. **Q: Would this be an appropriate home for a hermit crab?** A: Here are the reasons why this would NOT work to house a Hermit Crab: - Way too small! Hermit crabs need an average depth of at least 6 inches of substrate in order to bury themselves & molt. - You also need room for 2 dishes of water (each deep enough so that the crab can fully submerge itself)- both dechlorinated; 1 fresh, 1 aquarium salt. - No room for food or climbing or friends or an array of extra shells! - The majority of substrate materials (like playsand) will come right out of these sides. - Heat & Humidity are extremely important- if your temp.
