Pros: Feels sturdier than the original cable Includes volume up/down buttons - not included in my original cable includes pause button (with double-tap for next track) + mic for phone calls etc. Vertical plug, rather than the L-shaped one that came with the ear buds No loss in audio quality (as far as I can tell, anyway) Looks pretty cool Cons: A bit pricy for a replacement cable (I mean, the original ear buds were ~$70...) They tend to coil a bit, but I think that'll iron out over time The cons are, in my mind, barely worth worrying about. Review: Don’t bother with this knockoff. - The ~$3 difference between this wire and an official Audio Technica wire is not enough to justify buying this cheap knockoff. I was excited to get a wire for my ATH E40’s with an in-line remote — the remote doesn’t work though, at least not on iPhone or Dell laptops. As well, the plastic on the remote is very creaky. The stiffened portion around the ears is not as long as the official wire and as a result does not hold onto the ear as tightly as it should. The earbuds that use these wires are heavy and need support these don’t provide.
