Walnut Lumber - 3/4" x 2" x 12" (4 Pcs)

I purchased the Barrington Hardwoods Walnut Lumber - 3/4" x 2" x 12" (4 Pcs) to use for a project of replacing a small 1 3/4" x 2 5/8" square at the top of my Gramma's 1880's Eastlake cottage style walnut hall mirror that I recently inherited from my very generous aunt. The price was so affordable that I picked up the set of 4 vs just two pieces to have extra for matching the stain and just in case I might need to replace any other pieces in the future. At some point over the past 140+ years, a piece of the walnut mirror's front top left corner fell off and was not recovered so I decided to try to find some good quality walnut pieces to cut, sand and stain to match. I've already done a thorough cleaning and conditioning of the mirror frame and matching walnut with rose marble top parlor table so I can now work on replacing the missing piece.

I was hesitant at first—buying lumber off Amazon felt a bit strange—but the positive reviews convinced me to give it a shot. And I’m glad I did! The walnut lumber arrived quickly and was beautifully surfaced on all four sides, ready to use right out of the box. I still ran it through my jointer and planer just to be safe, but honestly, it probably didn’t need it. If you don’t have a local lumberyard or need quality wood delivered fast without steep delivery fees, this is a fantastic option! Made some beautiful cutting boards.

Beautifully selected walnut blanks were perfect for my project. These pieces are planed correctly and are not warped or dented. Liked them enough that I purchased a second time.

It's rare that I get internet purchased lumber in such a square & flat state. Very little work to do, could be glued to make bigger pieces straight out of the box. Good stuff.

As expected very good walnut

I have been using this to make Christmas ornaments - cut the outline and then rip them in half to get 2 ornaments. The wood is nice looking and quite clear of knots and any other imperfections. Good stuff.

Very pleased with the stock I received. I ordered some red oak through a different vendor with a less-than-stellar result. However, I made a simple picture frame with the walnut boards I received, and after some sanding and finishing, it turned out really nice. The lumber was free of any evident defects, and it had been planed/jointed so the stock was nice and square--which is enormously important to me in all of my projects. The picture attached to this review has had a few coats of poly applied, so the stock is actually a few shades lighter in color when it is still packaged.

This is Charcuterie made from these wonderful walnut lumber. Highly polishable and finished with oil and Beewax. Looks great on my wife’s dining table set-up. (Was going to sell it. However, wife kidnapped it before even trying.) Will buy more for my next project.

I bought it because I really needed walnut despite the price. It have a fine grain and nice color. Good for VERY LITTLE projects. Should have gone into a wood shop and bought for almost nothing their wood scraps instead... but it's alright for what I needed + my lazy ass is happy thanks to the door delivery. :)
